Verbiva vs Otter
Otter is a mature meeting assistant with a meeting bot, desktop and phone apps, and generous minutes on its paid plans. Verbiva is newer, never sends a bot, and is built for meetings that happen in more than one language.
Disclosure: this page is published by Verbiva, one of the two products compared. Otter facts come from Otter's own pages, read on 30 Oct 2026, and may have changed since.
What's the short answer?
- Choose Otter if you want a bot to join your Zoom, Teams and Meet calls for you, need many hours a month, or rely on Salesforce, HubSpot or Slack.
- Choose Verbiva if your meetings mix languages, you want summaries and answers in a language you pick, or you'd rather no bot ever joins your call.
Where is Otter better?
- More minutes. Otter's free Basic plan gives 300 minutes a month (30 minutes per conversation); Pro gives 1,200 minutes a month [O1]. Verbiva's free plan gives 2 hours a month, and the planned Pro plan 10 hours.
- A bot, if you want one. Otter's AI Meeting Agent can be scheduled to join Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet meetings automatically [O2]. Verbiva has no bot.
- Apps today. Otter lists Mac and Windows desktop recording, iOS and Android apps, a Chrome extension and the browser [O2], and says its desktop recording works "without bots joining the call" [O2]. Verbiva launches on 8 Dec 2026 as a website plus Mac and Windows apps; phones use the website.
- Integrations and admin. Otter connects to Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Notion and more, and offers SSO and SCIM (100-user minimum) and a HIPAA add-on on Enterprise [O1, O2]. At launch Verbiva connects to Google Calendar and Outlook, and has none of the others.
- Where you can use it. Verbiva isn't offered in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Quebec for now.
Where is Verbiva different?
- Mixed-language meetings. Every Verbiva recording starts on Auto-detect, and each part of the recording gets its own language, so nobody picks one up front (still being tested: see the multilingual meetings page). Otter transcribes six languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese) [O1], in the language you select in its settings [O3].
- More spoken languages. Verbiva lets you set 21, including Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Urdu and Arabic.
- Summaries in your language. You choose "My language" from 21 languages and can read any summary in another.
- Answers in the language you ask in. Ask about a meeting in your language; the answer comes back in it.
- The app in your language. 9 interface languages, including Arabic (right to left), Hindi and Gujarati; 8 are machine-translated and marked beta. When Otter added French and Spanish, it said its interface would remain in English [O3].
- Longer free recordings. A single recording on Verbiva's free plan can run 90 minutes; Otter's free plan stops at 30 minutes per conversation [O1].
- Consent, saved. Before each recording, Verbiva asks you to confirm everyone agreed, and saves it with the meeting.
- Share only some points. People you share with get a frozen copy of the points you picked (teammates read it in their own language), and never see the transcript or audio.
